The US Coal Show is produced by Mining Media International (MMI), a niche trade media outlet that also publishes Coal Age. Previously MMI produced Longwall USA, a successful biennial trade show and conference that served a large portion of the underground coal mining market. During 2020, MMI decide to expand the scope of Longwall USA to also include other underground mining methods (room-and-pillar mining) as well as solutions for coal handling and storage systems. In addition to an exhibit where suppliers showcase their equipment and services, the US Coal show also offers a continuing education program in the form of a technical program. Professional engineers attending the event can earn credit for professional development hours for presenting and attending the sessions.
